Experience Physical Therapy

Chris Acheson, PTA

Physical Therapist Assistant

I graduated from Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado, in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Exercise Physiology and a minor in Communications/Journalism. I later earned my Associate of Applied Science degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Denver Technical Institute and began my career in outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine rehabilitation in the Denver metro area.

Over the past 27+ years, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of physical therapy settings, including outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, acute rehabilitation, skilled nursing, work conditioning, work hardening, and post-surgical rehabilitation. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to learn from and be mentored by highly skilled physical therapists, developing extensive hands-on experience in manual therapy, functional movement assessment, therapeutic exercise, and return-to-work and return-to-sport rehabilitation.

In addition to patient care, I have served in leadership roles including Clinic Director, Market Director, and Director of Operations. These experiences helped me develop a deeper appreciation for patient-centered care, team development, and building successful rehabilitation programs.

My passion is helping people move better, feel stronger, and return to the activities they enjoy most. Whether recovering from surgery, returning to work, getting back to sports, or simply staying active, I believe every patient deserves an individualized treatment approach focused on achieving meaningful goals.

I was born and raised in southern Colorado, where I spent much of my youth skiing in the Rocky Mountains, fishing local rivers and lakes, and exploring mountain trails in my Jeep Wrangler. Outside the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my family, camping, fishing, weightlifting, and working on classic cars. I'm also a lifelong music fan who enjoys just about every genre, with a particular appreciation for the rock and grunge music of the 1980s and 1990s.

I look forward to helping you achieve your goals and get back to doing the things you love.
